'A TALE OF INDO-PAK RELATIONS'

" I sincerely hope that they ( relations between Pakistan & India )will be friendly and cordial. We have a great deal to do ...& think that we can be of use to each other & to the world. " - Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

But the relations between India and Pakistan since Independence have been timely wrecked by a series of historical and political contentious subjects of matter . So far, the contentment between these two countries happenstance opportunely. After dissolution of the British government in 1947 , the Union of India & Dominion of Pakistan were formed , one with Hindu majority and other with Muslim majority but  at that time Kashmir with maximum Muslim majority was ruled by a Hindu king Maharaja Hari Singh,
who didn't want to join neither two countries and wanted to maintain a status quo( state of affairs that exist at a particular time especially in contrast to a different possible state of affairs) leading
to standstill  agreement which was further rejected by India and accepted by Pakistan. But this agreement does not affected the Pakistan forces hankering to take Kashmir under their own territory
and they invaded Kashmir in 1947 under the codename ' Operation Gulmarg'. Then Maharaja of Kashmir  turned towards Indian side
to send its troops to save his neck and  on the advice
of then governor general of Burma, Lord Mountbatten, Maharaja signed the 'instrument of accession' on 26 oct 1947 in which he granted  Kashmir to India ere Nehru ready to send Indian troops.
Aftermath , India defeated Pak paramilitary forces and tribals , and invaded Kashmir .Since then , Kashmir issue  imprinted as the focal point for two of three Indo-Pak war one fought between 1947-1948
and second in 1965. At present , all parts of Kashmir is not under Indian territory ,moving to 1949 ceasefire agreement north-western Kashmir was fully integrated  into Pakistan, becoming Azad Kashmir (or POK). While in 1962, China took Aksai chin and other parts, defeating India .While, in 1984 India captured around 80% of Siachen glacier  augmenting 'Operation Meghdoot'. Pakistan government is 'still' on its tenacity UN resolutions calling off Kashmir people should be allowed to vote in a refrendum on their future. But India does not want international debate, reckoning Kashmir an indispensable part of  India .
This dispute ensued India to aid East Pakistan having majority Bengalis in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. But the 1998-1999 Kargil war was a big mistake by Musharraf as India regained some of the ports that Pakistan has occupied. After that many insurgent attack on Jammu & Kashmir state assembly and in Dec 2001 on Indian Parliament and number of terrorists attacks , reported.

However, plentiful mutual confidence building measures framed  to gratify growing tensions .Resuming again , in 2011 Delhi and Islamabad,  restarted high-level talks, suspended after 2008 Mumbai  attacks.Whereas in economic compass ,building civil society & business exchange methods ,easing visa restrictions were imposed. Fortunately, Pakistan government decided to extend most favored nation (MFN)  status to India.

Again unfortunately, process of reinforcing Indo-Pak relations hampered .
In summer 2011, terrorists infiltrated in Mumbai, Indian government bailed without screeching  & went  off to track down perpetrators quitely , in order to reconcile  peace talks with   Pakistan. Correspondingly, an Indian army chopper drifted into Pakistan territory, but after delayed briefly, Indian troops were send unharmed.

Moreover, in 2012 , there has been noticeable increase in ceasefire violations by Pakistan and reciprocating fire along LOC more than 75 times. It was also came in news that one Pak soldier was shot to death ,and again two days later , supreme killing of two Indian soldier took place, and one of them  was brutally mutilated and carried away with Pak militants .After that many grave provocative incident took place which unsweetened kin between two countries.

So on , to attract the attention of world forum towards Kashmir issue , Pakistan  started using proxy prisoners to manifest  animosity .Recently, in kot lakhpat jail of Pakistan ,Sarabjit singh, a mistaken identity was scathed brutally by jail prisoners and attained death on 1-2 may ,2013. After Chamel Singh incident , this was second incident that shattered the Hope of his family and showed the ferocious visage of Pakistan .

To rejuvenate our Bilateral relationship, we must take into consideration the following lines-

Human who are inhuman ,
violates human rights,
those who are born human,
share valuable rights ......

'One Time Happy , Next Being Sad' - Women Status

"I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved." -B.R. AMBEDKAR
Various women emancipation paradigm presented in parliament , raised by NGOs ,then implemented to vanish lukewarm responses of society towards their growing feeble status. Why political class, so concerned to empower women standard ? The answer lurking somewhere but visible concretely as the lower and upper house of Parliament holding maximum number of male members as MPs, MLAs etc.

To cutback male chauvinism in order to escalate women identity as ' POWERPUFF WOMEN' , embraced with key features like position, power, role model and so on endless accolades .In order to do so, most awaited women reservation bill (108th Amendment Bill) is still pending in Lok Sabha while Rajya Sabha has passed this bill on 9 Mar, 2009. If passed, this bill will reserved 33% of all seats in lower house of Parliament of India , the Lok Sabha, and in state legislative assemblies to secure women designation and boost their projection to something invisible leads to visibly possible. But this bill is acting as a part of vote bank politics as if UPA II praises it they will be benefited in the upcoming 16th Lok Sabha elections, ,if BJP applauded and agreed they will attract maximum women voters . Actually, they are trying to win heart of women playing politics as a game.

Now, moving towards an optimistic approach, over the past few millennia women received many great changes and modern society banned many faulty traditional practices such as sati, jauhar, purdah, devadasi and much more that forced women to suffer a lot. These practices were mostly imposed during medieval period but not momentous during vedic period or ancient times.

Looking at current status of women in India, we can proudly say that yes women have held offices including that of President, Prime minister , Speaker of the Lok Sabha and leader of the opposition. Presently , Meira Kumar on 3 June, 2009 elected unopposed as the first speaker of Lok Sabha. Though, in past we have many prominent leaders like Indira Gandhi , Sarojini Naidu and the list goes on.

Yet , this terminology is not permitted to explore in different domains.Constantly , discriminated by narrow communal sections women inked with many issues such as-

WORKING ARENA
Women are facing dual problems in conquering own and others desires. Especially, women professional overburdened with profession and household workloads. Moreover, women are less paid and more used than men.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROBLEMS
The socio-cultural problems surrounded women to a large extent. Parents take side of son more than daughter to obtain a huge dowry - another income source, act as catalystic support in their old age without pondering about women needs like equal excess to education, medical facilities, employment, and other productive resources fostering their ideologies.

CRIMINAL OFFENCES AGAINST WOMEN
It is rightly said :
"YOU SAVE YOURSELF OR YOU REMAIN UNSAVED"
The figure provided by the National Crime Report Bureau , recorded an increase of over 35% in various crime committed against women in the previous year 2011- 2012 as against 2009-2010 .In Bihar , the total number of crime against women stood at 10,231, which 4.5% of the total number of crime committed against women in the country, inspite of draconian laws, no improvement spotted. These epidemic violence include sexual exploitation for economic gains like prostitution & trafficking, adultery, abduction, wrongful confinement so on boundless criminal breach of trust.
To save an epileptic society, hopefully any doctor can do something.

RAPE
Rape numbers uprising, consequently rising rapists .An anti-rapists revolution evinced throughout India whether in Nirbhaya case, or currently Gudiya case. One women gets raped every 22 minutes and one child gets raped every 76 minutes, NCRB Report. Totally astonishing lodged cases of rape registered a 873 percent jump between 1971- 2011. MPs, MLAs, Commissioners -stalwart of democracy , shocking silent gestures or sometimes an assurance that striking steps must be taken. Furthermore to stop heinous crime like rape ,'ANTI RAPE BILL LAW' passed to payback something to citizens of this country. But , mentality gap still popping inside the mind of our country 'INDIA'.

NO LAW IS USEFUL UNLESS IT IS IMPLEMENTED BY ALL.
NO CRIME CAN BE PREVENTED IF ITS ROOT IS UNDERESTIMATED
IT WILL KEEP GROWING AND AFFECTING WELFARE OF SOCIETY.

HOPE REMAINS ........

CELL PHONES : HUMAN CONNECTORS OR DEATH OF PERSONALISATION ?

Irritated of that constant ringing ?
Mobile phone as they were earlier called is a Grand Business now. Needless to say it is of much importance and I can not stress enough, how different world would be or rather was when their was no cell phone or rather any phone for that matter. People lived in a community acted like one and I must say were as close to each other as one can get, which can not be said about today.

CELL PHONES
HUMAN CONNECTORS OR DEATH OF PERSONALISATION?

Today people are more close to the person on their phone rather than the one in front of them and when that person from the phone comes face to face we are then close to someone else on the phone! This is the cycle of twisted communication that we humans today have adopted and it ain't going anywhere.

My recent frustration towards these always “buzzing” objects came to be, after the realization that the time wasted on a phone causes the real life to stop.We are know dependent on a phone to tell us what to do, when to wake up e.t.c but beyond its few merits like emergency calls and crisis it is waste of precious time and death of personalisation .

God knows how many bucks people actually spend on these things! Its unbelievable..THE NEW I PHONE, GOT TO HAVE IT ! and they make new ones like every other year, I think and yeah they make oceans of that green paper.

I personally feel cell phones should have a time limit that restricts calling beyond a certain point which would increase “real” conversations and mobiles would be used only for emergencies and not to show how “busy” we are .
I declare April to be a cell free month at least for me .So if u call me and I don’t pick then that means I have stuck to my statement and I am doing real and productive things rather than talking on the new “idiot box” .
